‘Marginalia’ probably isn’t the right word, but I suppose it’s too late. The idea was “to make brief comments on (or vaguely inspired by) brief passages from my reading; or, more heroically, to raise the form of marginalium to that of miniaturized essay.”
Now that I’ve been at it for a few years, the Marginalia series begins to feel like a Wunderkammer collection of texts, the journal of a schizophrenic bookworm, a mirror maze in which I discover my own reflection everywhere I turn.
